POWHERFUL WOMAN – CASSIE JOSEPHSON

As we progress with our PowHerFul Initiative, I’m so thrilled to introduce to you our next featured woman.

Cassie Josephson is the essence of a fighter. In the last 9 years she has had to fight for everything.  She along with her parents was ousted from the church she grew up in when she came out as gay. Cassie has also fought crippling depression, OCD, and anxiety along with other battles.

In 2021, after years of being over prescribed medications, she developed Serotonin Syndrome and consequently fell unconscious at home. After spending nine days on a ventilator she began physiotherapy to regain the strength to even walk and stand. Cassie has recently celebrated one year of recovery and is feeling joy and loving life in a way she hasn’t in years. This month, she is finally able to return to work as a registered nurse.

Cassie is also a lover of animals and has been a foster for kittens and cats at the Regina Humane Society and has fostered 137 kittens, including taking on special cases like her foster Blaze, who was found frozen to the ground on the highway.

Please join me in celebrating this incredibly courageous woman.
