I’m so happy you’ve taken some time to be here. My designs give you that go-getter reminder we all need some days! You know, the one that says you’re one kick-ass woman who can do anything your heart desires. That one. Cause you are!
As far back as I can remember I’ve always been a go-getter. I mean, at the age of 10, I informed my parents I was going to be a designer (I don’t think my parents really believed me then, HA!).
I moved to Canada at a young age. With that large move, I witnessed my parents continuously work hard for our family. Their determination was not lost on me and I still carry it with me to this day. They made sure I knew I could accomplish and pursue anything no matter how big.
My entrepreneurial path began when my job was leaving me with a creative void which led me to start my planning company, Awespiring Weddings in 2009 followed by Love Plus Design, now known as So Ela, in 2010.
A few short years later after working all day between all roles, I took the leap to full-time business owner and to focus on my growing family.
Today you’ll find me enjoying my days in my home office, with a lit candle and a 80s/90s mix on designing stunning weddings, and products that make you (and me!) feel good. After all, isn’t that the power of design? That’s what draws me to it - its special super power to make you feel something.

Our Story
the beginning
So Ela, previously known as Love Plus Design, was established in 2010 after knowing its counterpart, Awespiring Weddings, could offer a better experience for its clients. Love Plus Design’s main focus at that time was wedding stationery.
2016 - 2022
Since then it has expanded slowly to include various other events, products, and gifts. After years of ignoring the desire to design products, in 2016 we took the leap and began creating mugs and cake toppers to celebrate special events.
today
Now So Ela provides women with motivational and sassy lifestyle, fashion and home décor products that spark joy and empower our customers. Being part of the local business community, it is important that we do our part in supporting, collaborating, and inspiring other local companies. We are proud to work with Canadian suppliers.
